Precision, technology and craft at the service of every smile.
A new view of implant dentistry.
Every smile demands more than a solution.
It demands surgical rigour. Planning. Precision. And a vision that begins long before the surgery.
Because the greater the complexity, the greater the demand.
Clinical cases
Every transformation is considered in detail, favouring precise interventions and natural results, in harmony with each patient's smile, face and identity.

All patients whose images appear here have consented to their use for the purpose of publishing before-and-after results and of presenting the treatments carried out. The treatments were performed at the Jesus Mar Couto Clinic, ERS registration no. E138849, by Dr. Gonçalo Jesus, dentist, Portuguese Dental Association (OMD) licence no. 10234. Each case is unique: the results shown relate to these patients and have an educational purpose — to show that there are solutions suited to each situation. Each case requires its own assessment and planning so that the appropriate treatment plan can be established.

BookTechnology
In surgery, precision is unavoidable. Among the technologies available to us is the Falcon system, by Straumann: it allows implant surgery to be carried out with dynamic navigation, following the position of the instrument on screen throughout the procedure, based on the plan built on the patient's CBCT.

Jesus Mar Couto has two clinical units, in Aveiro and in Faíscas, and each of them brings together the three stages that treatment requires: the diagnosis, with the diagnostic examinations carried out on site; the delivery of the treatment, in a clinical space equipped for the most complex cases; and the making of the smile, in our own dental laboratory — crowns, veneers and fixed prostheses.
The Jesus Mar Couto clinics have their own radiology, with CBCT and a panoramic radiograph unit, and an in-house dental laboratory. Any patient who needs them has the examinations carried out on site — and the dentist reviews all of that data on the same day as the assessment consultation.
Intraoral and facial scanners, photogrammetry, recording of mandibular movements, 3D printing, milling and navigated surgery. These are essential pieces of equipment in the clinic: they are not there to impress, they are there because they allow us to carry out treatment that is faster and more precise.
At every assessment consultation, our aim is to explain all the treatment possibilities, what is recommended and what tends to last longer. The information is given on a scientific basis and on the diagnostic examinations, so that the decision is taken together with us, on solid grounds.

Our practice focuses on rehabilitation with implants, from the most common situations to the most complex ones caused by insufficient bone structure — including cases in which patients had already been told that there was no solution.
Anchorage techniques that avoid the need for prior bone regeneration: zygomatic, pterygoid and transnasal implants, palatal anchorage and angled implants with bicorticalisation.
In full-arch rehabilitations, the aim is to place a fixed provisional prosthesis on the day of surgery itself — what in implant dentistry is called immediate loading. It is the initial stability obtained by these techniques that makes this possible.
When bone atrophy is very marked and conventional approaches no longer apply, we turn to advanced surgical techniques, suited to each patient's anatomy.

Dental veneers
In building a smile, we assess which treatment allows a natural and harmonious result to be achieved. In many cases, the route is dental veneers, designed and made in the clinic's own laboratory.
We work with magnification under the microscope, which allows minimally invasive tooth preparations — and, in selected cases, without any reduction of the tooth.
It is this precision that makes it possible to produce ceramic veneers with thicknesses that can be as little as 0.2 millimetres, also known as dental contact lenses.

Talk to meThis section is addressed to dentists
Referring cases between fellow dentists is a common practice in dentistry. Working in a multidisciplinary way is what allows the patient to receive the rehabilitation best suited to their case — and the longest-lasting.
If you are a dentist and have a case of severe bone atrophy that you would like to discuss, you can refer it for a preliminary appraisal. The process is as follows:
Once the case is received, it is answered with a preliminary appraisal by Dr. Gonçalo Jesus.
We meet with you to settle the treatment plan selected for the patient, which is then carried out by our clinical team.
The treatments are performed at our units, by our team and using the technology available to us — from the diagnostic examinations to navigated surgery.
After the first contact, we ask the referring dentist to prepare all the information they have on the case — clinical history, CBCT, intraoral photographs and intraoral scan — so that the preliminary appraisal can be made with the data available.
